I am very pleased to announce the publication of my first book! It took three years to write, and three years to find a publisher, and I am very proud of it. ;-)

About the book:

"Dangerous Religion" is a thought-opera of spiritual contemplations on Pagan and environmental themes, and simultaneously a manual for environmental activists and other participants in the anti-globalization movement.

It describes a planetary Will to Life expressed by everything in nature from animals and plants to the material elements, here called "Global Animism", and how it requires radical transformations in our total lives, from the level of personal belief all the way to political and economic organization.

Three main sections distinguish particular themes: the first, called "In the beginning was the Mother" is concerned with environmental and religious matters, particularly in the Celtic tradition; the second, called "Separating Reality from Illusion" examines social and political matters, especially how the global market is a manifestation of the Will to Life in pathological disorder; and the third, "The Great Silence", brings the previous themes into a personal and more purely spiritual unity, and suggests some ways how the disordered Will to Life may be rectified.

Some Endorsements

"In Dangerous Religions, the subject of Neo-paganism final grows up and faces the world of politics and environmentalism with maturity. Intellectually stimulating and challenging, this book weaves the worlds of nature religion, philosophy, spirituality, ecology and protest into one work, showing that the Neo-Pagan Movement must now take its place in shaping the future of the world we live in. Myers' work is a must for those who question the purpose of the pagan movement in a modern world."

"Brendan "Cathbad" Myers is a dangerous man. Not only can he think clearly and creatively about some of the most important issues of our time, but he argues passionately and poetically about the need to challenge the dominant paradigms that rule our world-religious tyranny, corporate plundering, and financial mismanagement of our dwindling resources... "Dangerous Religions" are ones that make you question authority, think for yourself, feel for other creatures, and demand justice. Earth Religions Press is proud to present a spiritual work that belongs on the bookshelves of every Neopagan on earth. Read it and apply its lessons-before it's too late."
