Between the commercializing influences of WebTV (and the like) and the rising pressure on government to limit the availability or production of electronic information it would not suprise me if the 'Net dumbed down to television's level within the next ten years. Those of us who see this meeting of electrons as a place to find or create communities of interest need to work to figure out what we can do to help the 'Net as we know it survive. Part of that work is figuring out what each of our bottom lines on censorship are so that we can educate the non-wired majority who read about the 'Net as a cult-ridden haven for child-pornographers, stalkers, and nazis.
