A think tank formed in 1968, best known for the book The Limits to Growth (later updated as Beyond the Limits), one of the first clear scientific statements that the endless growth ethic of industrial society was not sustainable. That first report has been followed by many others, though none quite so controversial or attention-getting as the first. Their web site contains information about the Club's history, philosophy and current activities. They also invite contributions from the public in a discussion forum.
